  • Description:
    • Presbyterian Homes of Georgia has broken ground on Presbyterian Village Athens, which the developer claims will be the first continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Athens.

When completed, the community will be able to house more than 300 seniors seeking independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing or rehabilitation. The units will be split into 107 cottages, 22 villas and 100 apartments when all construction phases are complete.

Presbyterian Homes cited a high seniors population — 15 percent of the county’s residents are over 65, which is expected to grow — as a reason for choosing Athens.
