  • Description:
    • Ensley Birmingham, AL

The 10-story Ramsay McCormack Building in downtown Ensley will be demolished and replaced with a 4-story building
The developer, Ensley District Developers, worked with Stewart Perry Construction for a site study. The study found the building to be unfit for renovation. The site study found several major structural problems in the building caused by being vacant for nearly 35 years.
The basement, which is currently filled with water, will be filled in. The building will then be demolished. However, some of the materials from the building will be salvaged and used in the new structure. The new structure will be 30,000 square feet.

The new building will be used for multiple purposes and will be designed to promote more foot traffic in downtown Ensley.

Based on discussions with the City of Birmingham’s Department of Innovation and Economic Opportunity, EDD could break ground by August 1, 2020 with an estimated completion date of September 2022.
