    • Seattle’s premier office tower serves as a connection point linking the new waterfront, Belltown, Pike Place Market, and surrounding downtown neighborhoods
      
      Skanska, a leading development and construction firm, announced today that it had achieved the “topping out” milestone for 2+U, placing the highest piece of steel on the 38-story Class-A office tower in the heart of Seattle’s central business district.
      
      The 30-story tower will include 307 apartments
      
      Back in October, Skanska announced it had purchased a -square-foot parcel of land on Fourth Avenue in Belltown, previously called the 2200 Block. Last week, the company announced more details on the project design by Grzywinski + Pons and VIA Architecture, including some early renderings, as it gets ready to present plans at a May 15 Early Design Guidance meeting.
      
      According to current plans, 30-story tower will include 307 apartments, most ranging in size from studio to two-bedroom, plus parking for 153 vehicles below. On the third level—still in the wider footprint provided by the podium—10 three-bedroom units will be grouped around outdoor amenities geared toward families, according to plans in the design review packet.
